Ako Hiko Film Festival

Kia ora. Here are our four fantastic Ako Hiko Film Festival entries. The theme was 'Kindness'.  Our students had many challenges (Lockdown 2.0) whilst filming these 3 minute films, but we reckon they did a pretty good job! These four films were all shown at the Ako Hiko Film Festival screening at St Lukes cinema last night! Hope you enjoy.

  3. Hi I'm Byesion and I'm gonna comment on your post that I think was "out of this world" sadly I only watched the "Act Of Kindness" video. How did you make the alien blend in with the background? because it's blowing the mind in my mind! Though I think it would be cool if you made your voices more clear(this is hard because of weather), the teacher/ms.green have a bit more of a say in this not to say that it's not long enough but still ms.green should have a better say in all of this. that's all BYE!!!

  7. Hi, my name is Alexandra. I am from Waikowhai School. I really loved the first 3 videos. I especially liked the first video because it is about including others even if they are different to the rest. Something you guys could maybe work on is not laughing in the third video.

  8. Hi there, my name is Madeleine and I am a Year 4 in Te Ana Ako at Waikowhai School. I really like how it is called Blabber news. It made me think about how me and my dad watched the news during lockdown. Have you thought about trying to keep the camera still when you were filming? 14. Hi Te Ana Ako... it's Lily,
All of your videos are amazing, it was also really cool to see all of your faces on the movie screen at the cinemas. The video that I watched was don't judge the book by its cover which is the film with my sister in it. I really liked how you all got different names. Maybe for next time... NOTHING! It was amazing so I don't think you need to change anything.

I enjoyed the part when you all had lunch time. Did you think about putting eyes on bippi boppi and some texture?
Why did you name the principal Ms McGrath because the teacher's name was Mr Green?

  23. Kia Ora,
My name is Hasti and I'm from Hay Park School. I really loved your films! But out of all of them I have to say the "lockdown show" was the best. I really was flabbergasted by the amazing acting, it totally blew me away! I could really relate to this film because so many people had gotten way nicer when we came back to school, but when level one came along everyone seemed to go back to normal( less nice ). I would like to know if you were pretending or did you actually somehow find out how to get minecraft on a Chromebook? Why would I like to know? I-I umm.... need it for my own purposes.

  24. Hi Te Waka Ako class,
My name is Miraj in Tuffery Class, at Hay Park School. I really liked your movie The lock down show. The things that I liked about your movie are your use of the green screen, and how you choose to show kindness but I do have a suggestion. That suggestion is to add some narration to set the scene for your audience. What was a challenging part of making the Lock down Show, and was the Mac Book your teachers?
