On Thursday we decided to have a Cross Country. We were supposed to have it in Week 11 but it rained and got postponed to Week 12. We had different activities set up all around the school including the run. The senior leaders (Year 6's and House Captains) led games for the year groups. The games included Handball, Tennis, Duck Duck Goose, Blindfold game, warm up station and warm down station on the playground. All the students have been training for weeks and everybody did a great job! The weather was awesome and lots of families came to support their children. Everyone dressed in their house colours (Pukeko = Green, Ruru = Blue, Kea = Red, Tui = Yellow) so it was a colourful wonderful day. What a great way to end the term!

Wow! Amazing Job Waikowhai. You worked really hard for the Cross Country. Good Job Ms Daly for doing this blog and good thing you put the video because in our assembly it did not work, But there was a lot of pics.
ReplyDeleteWhat I liked about is Waikowhai Running and doing the Warm up. I think Boston came 1st Place! I thing Everyone came in the top 10. And forgot to tell you. Wellbeing Ms Sands will be leaving, that is sad but... Mrs Law is coming back and Miss Kim. and Thanks to Ms Sands and all the teachers for the Cross Country Setup.

ReplyDeleteI would just like to point out that in your cross county video you could have stepped it up a level. I am not trying to say that it is bad. I am just saying maybe you could have done some interviews on people that have finished the race and how they felt about it.
I really like the fact that all of the photos in the video was everyone having a good time. So that proves that people can’t complain about the things that they enjoy.
At my school our hubs (class) are named after birds too but our ones are kiwi, pukeko, tui, korimako and toroa.
