Anzac Activities

ANZAC DAY
Saturday 25th April 2020

In Te Waka Ako we had lots of activities that students could do in their learning time at home. We also let them know about the services that would play on the Radio, as in lockdown
(as we know) we couldn't gather for dawn services. I will definitely be attending a dawn service next year when gatherings of people can happen again. Many students did all sorts of activities, many created awesome art pieces for their property. Here are just a few....

  1. Hi Ms Sands, we stood at dawn, socially distant from our neighbours, and listened to the service on the radio. I, like you, will be attending a dawn service next year when we are able to gather again. The activities that the students of Te Waka Ako have been part of look amazing! The poppy designs, sculptures and displays show real creativity. It's lovely to see students wearing the uniforms of organisations that they belong to, and great to see families standing together. The ANZAC cookies are looking delicious too! Well done Te Waka Ako, we're really proud of you.

  2. Wow!! Great to see others in Te Waka Ako commemorating our fallen. We found it hard, being the 2nd year in a row not being able to attend some form of service. This is the first time as a whanau that we got up for a dawn service. Normally the ones we attend are a little later in the morning. It was nice to be joined by 4 other neighbours, at social distances. I played the Last Post through my phone for all our neighbours to hear. Some of them too put poppies up. We placed our poppies in the window for everyone to enjoy as they walk past our house. We still haven't taken them done. Along with the teddies and Easter Eggs. We might just leave them up until the end of lockdown.

  3. For the most part the male input jacks that come on headphones are either 4 inch or 5.1 mm. Over the head style headphones that contain smaller sound magnets will be lighter and more comfortable for long-term wearing. earbuds
