Heya Te Waka Ako Students, I thought I would use our syndicate log to post some of the things I have been doing over the last three days and ask you to comment on some of the things you have been doing. You could also create a new post on your own blogs about some of the activities you have been up to with your family at home.
In my bubble are my son Shannon, his wife Catherine and their son Micah. Catherine is also pregnant and her baby is due to be born in 10 days. We have been walking everyday and I have been running, making sure we are always 2 metres away from anyone else doing the same.
We have played a game called Rummikub, which is a favourite, along with Bananagrams!
I have played heaps of different games with Micah, who will be two years old in a week, and he has helped us do chores a lot too. He LOVES machines and vehicles so I am creating a drawing for his birthday of heaps of different trucks and cars and emergency vehicles. Today I cleaned all the Waipu dirt off the outside and inside of my car!
We were given bunches of flowers from someone who could no longer sell them, which makes our house look happy and friendly I think.
So... that is some of what I have done. What have you been up to? Who is in your bubble during the next four weeks?

Hi Ms Sands,
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed reading about your first few days in lockdown. In my bubble their is Me, Jacob, Thomas and my parents. We have been calling someone on facetime each day and because our neighbor has to self isolate we set up a little spot where we meet here for afternoon tea each day at 3:30pm. We have also been doing the NZ Lockdown Challenge. Last time we checked our placing we were 8th!
Daniel, it sounds like you are doing a great job with the lock down - can you tell us more about the Lock Down challenge please?
DeleteI love that you have an afternoon tea date with your neigh Daniel. That is such a kind thing to do. I haven't heard about the NZ lockdown challenge. I will have rto go and investigate.
DeleteHi Ms Sands, thanks for sharing your lock down experiences with us. I'm sure Micah is loving the time he is spending with you, I can't believe he's going to be 2 soon! Your flowers look beautiful.
ReplyDeleteIn our bubble, we have Paul (my partner) and Ty, Otto and Cali (our cats). We have spent some time in the garden weeding. We're going to be cleaning the roof of our house over the next few days, and I might do my car too. The car has been sitting in the garage since we came home from school on Wednesday. I had my first trip outside of our home this morning, I went for a walk alone as the sun was rising and it was beautiful. I only saw two other people and we made sure to give each other 2m space as we passed each other. I have read two novels, and am enjoying starting my third. We love to play card games, so that is keeping us entertained in the evenings. I shall look forward to hearing what everyone else in Te Waka Ako is doing throughout the lock down time.
Hey Ms SandS, I really like the way that you have told us what you have been doing during the New Zealand lock down. I really enjoyed reading what you have been upto in the first week of lockdown. And i really like the way that you have shown us some photos. In my bubble, there is my mum and dad, my two sisters Ofa and Ann-elizabeth,my two brothers Manu and Jeremiah, my little nephew Jaius and my uncle Akuila. We have been playing cards, singing, board games, puzzles, ps4, baking, drawing, banangrams, talking, and lastly our traditional family devotion. I really enjoyed reading. Blog you later!!!
ReplyDeleteSo cool to hear from you Jacob! I love reading about what everyone is doing at home and you sound like you are all doing awesome activities at home. You have lots of people in your bubble to keep you company and play with. Say hi to Ofa, Ann-elizabeth, Manu and Jeremiah for me. I bet they are all grown so much! Are you going to do a blog about what you have been doing in lockdown? Stay safe and stay home. Kia atawhai kia kaha.
DeleteHi Ms Sands,
ReplyDeleteI think it is a great idea to draw some vehicles for Micah. The flowers are very pretty. They stand out 'cause of their colours. Are you excited to have another grandchild? Josie, Travis, and my parents, Sally and Ieremia, are part of my bubble. During the week, my family and I have been doing two jigsaw puzzles. We have also been going for walks at Keith Hay Park. It's easy to get there because it takes less than a minute to walk there.
It's my poppa's 70th birthday tomorrow but we can't celebrate it together because of the lock-down. Instead, we've been practising a dance we made up for him. We have samoan outfits we planned to wear. We are going to show him the dance by using an app called 'zoom', where you could video chat. Since we are in lock-down, we have been using the app 'zoom' too, to do church online. I have enjoyed resting at home.
The thing me and my siblings have been doing the most is playing on our trampoline. You can find out more about it at http://wpsraeln.blogspot.com/
I really liked your blogpost. Enjoy your time with your family.
Bye!
I am very excited to have another grandchild. She is due to come into the world next week. It will be lovely to have time to look after a brand new baby. I also bought some jigsaw puzzles with but haven't started any yet. Love the dance idea Noa family, I bet your Poppa will LOVE it. He will be sad not to see you but super happy you are all well. We have used Zoom between the teachers, it's a great platform. I am really enjoying the conversations I am having with you Rael. Blog you later!
DeleteBonjour Ms Sands
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed reading your few days of your lock down. During my lock down My Mum went to go and get some food before the lock down went. When she came back she also came with some games so that we could play the games before and during the lock down. We just played game and we watch some movies and ate some snacks. Blog you Later!!!
Bonjour Peitynn it was a very clever idea to buy games for you all to play with before going into lockdown. Parents were really thinking about how to make things easier for everyone. What games did you get? We have been cooking yum food too. Have a look at Daniel, Shreya's, Indie's and Rael's blogs they have written about some of the things they have done so far this past week. Stay safe. Kia atawhai Kia kaha
Deletehi ms sands in my bubble is Helen, Kevin and Joy. i have been watching Lord of the rings and i thought it was satisfying and i liked the big monster from the first movie called Baurak but i don't know how to spell it right. and Kevin is scared of it.

ReplyDeleteIn my bubble there is my mum, dad, grandma, grandpa and my cat. I have been doing lots of reading and school stuff like math and writing. I have been outside on my driveway playing with my ball and getting fresh air. I have also played on my I-pad and Nintendo switch. blog you later!
Hi there Jihu great to hear from you. We were very lucky to get the flowers and there are a few of them still alive nearly two weeks later. The drawing for Micah, my grandson, is finished now and on the wall in a frame. He loves it. Very good to hear you are going outside for fresh air, the weather has been so lovely. Have you been going for walks around your neighbourhood? It is interesting listening to all the things people are doing in their properties. Take care. Kia kaha
